Fred's grandfather, David Moyer was a child prodigy pianist who at age 10 played for Theodore Roosevelt at the White House. He led a fantastic childhood in Berlin where he studied with some of the great pianists of the age, including Busoni and Dohnanyi. In the written notes, Fred describes how each work on the recording relates in a special way to David Moyer's early life.
